A Dummy Camera? Who is the Dummy? They May Be Watching Us!
These days, just about everywhere you go, from the bank, to the post office, to the convenience store on the corner, there is a camera, or even many cameras, watching you, recording your movements and behavior, and making sure that you don't commit a crime. It's sad, but we live in a world where everyone has to protect themselves, their homes, their property, and their businesses, from others who may be unsavory and unkind. So, the fact that there are cameras everywhere, in our Orwellian society, (it's IN the dictionary-I swear!) we have to be on our best behavior. There is also the opportunity for a business owner or homeowner to save money by buying a few dummy cameras, instead of the very expensive, high-tech equivalent! There are dummy cameras that are around twenty to thirty dollar a piece, but they look "so realistic" that people will think that they are "real" surveillance cameras. Whether a camera is real or just a dummy camera, those who see it, are going to think that they are being watched, and they will probably refrain from stealing or doing anything else that they are not supposed to be doing. It is actually funny that a dummy camera or fake camera can keep somebody in line, but it can. The beauty of the situation is that the owner didn't have to lay out hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Even if you owned an office, and wanted your employees to think that you can watch and make sure they are not goofing off, instead of big money, you can have a half dozen dummy cameras strategically placed, and the total may have only been a hundred dollars or so. Some of these dummy cameras are so realistic, that they run on batteries, and they feature a little red light, it may even be a blinking light. Sometimes the cameras are motion-sensitive, and when they sense movement, the red light which is steady, begins blinking. There are also those fakes, which move a little bit, when they sense movement in the room, and they really give the impression of being real! So, it may be time to add to the list of your "things to do," to get some great, fake cameras to put on the ceilings or walls of your home and/or place of business! It just may help you save money, and save one of your employees or family members from "being a dummy themselves," and making a big mistake!
